What Makes a Great Chicken Rice Mix?

When it comes to quick dinners, rice mix is your best friend. It makes a great side dish all on its own! A high quality chicken rice mix should lead with chicken and rice in both the aroma and flavor profiles. The chicken intensity may be comprised of bouillon and broth notes. The mix may also contain vegetal (pepper, onion, celery), herb (parsley, sage), pasta and dairy (butter, cheese) notes, but they should not overwhelm the chicken and rice intensities. The texture of the rice should be tender, toothsome and fluffy, not mushy, tough or overly starchy. Ideally, it will also have some richness.

  • richness
